How heavy is it?
Barely weighs more than a few grams depending on the size of the ski/board it is applied to. Actually it is lighter than conventional tip bails made of metal or hard plastics.
Does it increase drag?
The construction layering ensures there is much less of a harsh line at the skin edge effectively most likely reducing drag if anything.
What is it made of?
Its a basic vinyl material currently. Light but tough high denier Nylon and a large gauge hard plastic zipper.
What kind of closure mechanism does it have?
The current product has a large gauge zipper which is superior to velcro or other closure mechanisms when used in wet or dry snow. Some pictures show a Velcro closure as part of the development process.
